Baseball
Carlmont High School's baseball team has encountered numerous obstacles this season, battling a challenging non-league schedule and initially struggling with hitting and pitching. However, as the season progressed, the team's determination and commitment led to impressive improvements.

Growth
"I think the key has been understanding what our identity is and what our limitations are as a team. I think it took a few humbling experiences to realize that we weren't a team that was going to be like last year's," said Coach Ryan Hamilton.
This season, Carlmont Baseball had an overall 12-16 win rate, ranking fourth in the Peninsula-Bay league. They made it to the Central Coast Section Baseball Tournament Third Division, with Dom Avila, Henry Massey, and Tyler Webster winning second-team honors.

Vision
Webster, a sophomore, started baseball when his father would take him out to hit wiffle balls. He currently plays left, right, and center field.
"I love to improve my bonding with my teammates, like playing for each other and not worrying about individual statistics," Webster said.
Looking ahead, Coach Hamilton shares his short and long-term goals for the team. Every year, he aims to win the Central Coast Section (CCS) championship, regardless of the division they compete in.
"My long-term goal is for Carlmont baseball to really be looked at as the premier public school baseball program in the area, as well as being able to contend year in and year out with the WCAL teams," Hamilton said.
